SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDACY STATEMENT

Here's the thing: children don't ask to come into the world - zero say in the matter. So, I believe it is the responsibility of the adults in their lives, including those in their communities, to ensure they are safe, cared for, and well-educated. 

This has been my belief all of my adult life; and it is rooted in a set of values passed down to me from my family and my community. And I know well the value of a public education. I have chosen to learn and teach in public schools. I see it as a duty, and a reward, to give back to the systems that helped shape me. 

We, taxpayers, benefactors of public education, citizens of this community, owe it to children to work together to give them access to the best public education possible.

How?

By championing essential services (like OT and Speech) for those who need it, by amplifying diverse perspectives so that every child feels that they belong, by fighting for truly free and appropriate currciulums that include science, technology, and the arts.

Why?

So that we cultivate another generation of dynamic, responsible, open-minded,  kind citizens of the world that represent Exeter, NH with pride.
